All the major formats are supported including docx to jpeg, xlsx to jpeg, and xls to jpeg. Of course since it is another converter in Docx2doc.com there is no software to install to do the document to jpeg conversion.

Have you received a docx file in your e-mail inbox

Times have been tough lately, and the economy is still in bad shape. Things that you would normally spend money on in good times just aren't happening as often these days. For example, you may not want to upgrade to the latest and greatest software since what you have is working just fine.

So you wait and  rather not shell out extra money for upgrading Microsoft Word or other software. But then you get a Microsoft Word 2007 attachment from someone, and it opens up as garbage or not at all. It's a really important document and you need to read it fast. How do you read the newer docx file format?

One option is to quickly convert the docx file online at http://www.docx2doc.com/convert/docx-to-doc

Simply click the 'File Browse' button and upload your file and in seconds it is converted back to a normal doc file and opens immediately.

Presto! You have just converted your file so you can read it right away without the pain, hassle, and money needed to upgrade your Microsoft Word!

Convert Documents at Trusted Sites

Converting documents online can be a risky business, unless you know who you are dealing with. Unfortunately many online conversion sites are not run by a company at all, and by uploading your data you are giving them access to your information and potentially compromising your data.

The policy at Docx2Doc.com is to not retain or archive any uploaded or converted files. Once the conversion is done the original and any temporary files are removed from our system and cannot be restored.
Additionally  Docx2doc.com is owned by a US Corporation with full disclosure of contact information and even a toll free phone number. How many of the fly by night conversion sites can say that?

Our parent company, Jobvertise, Inc. which acquired Docx2doc.com in September of 2008 has been in business since 1997 providing services to over 100,000 employers and 1,000,000 job seekers.

Docx2doc.com gives you the security and trust to convert your documents online 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We work hard at keeping this service reliable and secure and we appreciate your business.

Please enjoy our services Converting DOCX files instantly as well as converting many other file formats.

Embed Docx to Doc Conversion on your Website or Blog FREE

The development team at Docx2doc.com has apparently lost their minds and offered up some html so you can add document conversion directly on your web site or blog for FREE. Click the following link to embed document conversion on your web site - just copy and paste the code from that page and you are done.

It's the same user interface as on the docx2doc.com site. When someone goes to your blog or web site and clicks on 'Browse...' they can select a file and then click submit and the converted file will come up instantly or ask to be saved as a file.

And the system is designed to leave the original browser window open so your users won't even leave your site when they do a conversion. This is a great value added service for them to bookmark and return frequently to your website.

There are a few converters offered for the embedded service right now. Not only do we support docx to doc but also do pptx to ppt or xlsx to xls

Please enjoy the benefits of offering these embedded file conversion services free to your users!

What are docx files, anyway?

A few thoughts might come to mind when someone receives a docx file for the first time. The first is "what is a docx file and how is it different from a doc file?" And another thought is "How do I open this docx file?"

So what exactly is a docx file?  A docx file is a new file format Microsoft switched to for Word 2007 and later versions. The new format is completely different from the old "doc" file format. The old doc format was binary, which means it was just a bunch of ones and zeros that made no sense to the human eye unless it was decoded in another program (typically Microsoft Word).

One can describe the old doc format as proprietary, as it took reverse engineering by other programs to figure out how the document structure was laid out.

Microsoft came out with the newer docx format wich is an open XML format. This means the formatting, font, and table structures are denoted using XML tags - readable to the human eye. This is much more user friendly for other programs to parse or render the docx file.

But the file is still complicated, and it's actually a collection of files that make up the docx file. Those files are zipped together (compressed) to appear as one file, known as the docx file.

The upshot of all this is that Microsoft is making a step in the right direction to open up their file structure, but the new format is incompatible with older versions of Word. This is why we offer a simple online way of converting docx to doc so older versions can read docx files without buying or installing new software.
